Bright, light voices through the centuries…”-The New York Times
“The angelic voices of this most famous vocal group are ageless”-The Salt Lake Tribune
This amazing ensemble celebrates its 511th birthday this year, but its members don't look a day over 14. For more than five centuries, the Vienna Boys Choir has been synonymous with choral music, and in a city that has fostered many of the greatest talents in music history, this choir continues to be one of the most recognized names and sounds in the world. “Theirs are the voices of Christmas, as pure as angels, as clear as the winter light. They sing of peace and happiness, of miracles and men, of the very spirit that defines the holiday season.” In a program of holiday music from Gregorian chant and Renaissance motets, through modern Christmas carols like White Christmas and even Jingle Bells, this charming ensemble presents an evening of exceptionally beautiful singing that best exemplifies the true meaning of Christmas.

At the historic Congregational Church
The Ten is a professional a cappella group of gentlemen from multiple generations that perform contemporary, spiritual, traditional and secular music. Hailing from the New York metropolitan area, the seventeen men who make up The Ten have their roots in the one hundred twenty-five voice University Glee Club of New York City (UGC), which was founded over one hundred years ago to preserve the tradition of male glee club singing.
The group is co-directed musically by three members: John Dorer, John Burke and Woodstock native Townsend Belisle).
The Ten was formed in 1979, when three quartets banded together to expand their musical repertoire and to perform for a variety of audiences. Those three quartets had a total of ten men, two singing in more than one quartet….hence the name, which has stuck even though the group has subsequently expanded to the current seventeen. The oldest members graduated from college in the 1950's and the youngest in 2000's, with every decade in between represented in the group. Among the younger members are the sons of two of the founders.
The group's repertoire includes a variety of sacred and secular songs and features sea chanteys, spirituals, motets and selections from popular artists such as James Taylor, Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel. Some arrangements are by members of The Ten, while others are by groups such as England's King's Singers. While a cappella four-part harmony is prevalent, it is not unusual for the group to sing in six or eight parts, with an occasional piece accompanied on piano or guitar.
The men of The Ten represent eleven different colleges, and are alumni of such a cappella groups as Yale's Whiffenpoofs and Spizzwinks, Princeton's Nassoons, Brown's Jabberwocks, Hamilton's Buffers, Skidmore's Bandersnatchers, and Washington and Lee's Southern Comfort.
