Special Olympics Vermont is incorporated as a Vermont non-profit corporation [501(c)(3)] and is accredited every two years by Special Olympics, Inc. Through successful completion of this accreditation process, Special Olympics Vermont is officially recognized and agrees to abide by a set of general rules established by Special Olympics, Inc.

Special Olympics Vermont offered 12 Olympic-type sports for 1,005 children and adults with intellectual disabilities to remain healthy and active year-round.

Special Olympics Vermont was incorporated in February of 1971.
