The village of Plymouth Notch is preserved much as it was when Coolidge was sworn in as president in the old family homestead on August 3, 1923. Fine perennial gardens. National Historic Landmark. The President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site is found in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, a small community hidden away among the Green Mountains. The site is owned by the State of Vermont and operated by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation. Calvin Coolidge, 30th president of the United States, was born here on July 4, 1872. He was sworn in as president in the old family homestead on August 3, 1923, and is buried in the village cemetery with seven generations of Coolidges.

The Aldrich House is open Monday through Friday year-round with interpretative exhibits for winter visitors.
