About Woodstock Fishing Guides
The Woodstock Inn & Resort‘s expert Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing Guides will help you with everything from setting up the rod, to fly selection, fishing knots, and how to safely release your catch, all in a fun and friendly environment. The Fly-Fishing Program and Shop are based out of the Woodstock Inn & Resort Activity Center, located behind the Inn at the intersection of Court and Cross Streets.
Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing
Our Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing Program invites beginner to expert anglers to cast in some of Central Vermont’s most picturesque waters. Learn to flycast on our Activity Center lawn with one of our Orvis Endorsed Guides, or head out to one of the local waterways. You can also choose to venture out into the bigger water (White, Black & Ottauquechee Rivers) for some of Vermont’s best fishing by wading or floating with our river raft excursion. Some rivers are even accessible year-round, offering early and late season splendor. We also offer flatwater fishing experiences on beautiful nearby waters in our Clacka-Craft drift boat.
Before we head out on excursions or begin a lesson you’ll be outfitted in Orvis gear and our guides go over some of the basics of fly-fishing and safety on the water.

The Orvis fly-fishing shop at the Woodstock Inn & Resort offers our guests and local community access to some of the industry’s finest fly-fishing products and gear with our experienced guides ready to offer recommendations and help you pick out the best Orvis products. From rods, reels, and thousands of flies to outdoor gear like backpacks and clothing, the shop is stocked for adventure! We can also order items from the Orvis catalog, conveniently shipped to your home. We look forward to guiding you on your fly-fishing journey.
