About The Thompson Center
The Thompson Center acts as a local resource and advocate for more than 1500 seniors in Barnard, Bridgewater, Pomfret, and Woodstock.The Thompson encourages and enables all those in our area who are 65 and older to “age well” – offering services and programs that enhance independence and involvement, and promote physical, intellectual, and social well being. We are a vibrant community of active participants, energetic volunteers, dedicated staff, expert advisors and teachers, and generous donors. Together we enrich the experience of aging in our area through meals, exercise, speakers and classes, transportation, aging at home referrals, and a myriad of other activities and opportunities for socialization.
