Events Odanaksis Art Exhibit Opening Reception

Join us on Friday, Aug. 23 from 3:30-5:30pm for the Opening Reception of the Odanaksis Art Exhibit entitled “Summer Gems”.



Odanaksis art will be on exhibit on the Mezzanine Gallery from August 16 - Sept 30.



ABOUT ODANAKSIS

The Plein Air Group, Odanaksis, is comprised of painters who live in all different parts of the Upper Valley of NH and VT. They get together weekly to paint outside in good weather and sometimes in bad weather. They all paint in different mediums, although watercolor and pastels predominate. Oils, acrylics, ink and photography have all been chosen at one time or other. They all learn from each other. Members may ask for constructive criticism about a particular piece they have brought to the group. Otherwise, they encourage turning off the inter, hypercritical voice to get to the inner, creative muse to enjoy the essence of painting.



The various venues visited come from members' knowledge of their respective neighborhoods. In inclement weather, the group may venture out to a quaint coffee shop or a member's home or porch. Extending socializing time may include lunch at a local eatery. Show and tell time there includes members discussing their latest discovery - a book, a technique, new equipment, exhibit opportunities, or a personal happen-stance. Wonderful friendships and adventures abound and, sometimes, paintings of unique vibrancy evolve.
