Woodstock History Center
The History Center, located in the heart of the village, celebrates the evolution of Woodstock over the past two hundred and fifty years. Visitors may tour the museum and view several new exhibitions each year. In addition to its museum, the History Center has an extensive library where researchers are welcome to view historical and genealogical information.
For those who prefer the outdoors, the History Center has perennial gardens and a beautiful back lawn with a view of Woodstock Village's only covered bridge.
Opening Hours
The Woodstock History Center's Museum will be open Wednesday through Saturday, from June 28 to October 10. Visitors may view the self-guided exhibits from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Guided tours of the historic house are held at 11:30 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:30 pm. These tours provide an opportunity to view period rooms as well as collections of art, clothing, furniture, toys, and more. There is no charge for admission.
Special exhibits for 2025 include:
- Hindsight 20/20 (which provides an overview of Woodstock's history over the past 250 years)
- That's a Good Question (which answers some of the most frequently asked questions about Woodstock’s history)
- The Vermont Sampler Tour (which features samplers with ties to the Revolutionary War)
- The Wonder Room (a contemporary take on the classic cabinet of curiosities)
