Events CANCELED: Author Reading with Bruce Coffin

Date

This event has no more occurrences

Bruce Coffin is well known for his classic work The Long Light of Those Days, which recounted stories of growing up in Woodstock in the 1950s. On Sunday, April 19th, at 2 pm, Coffin will share a new companion piece that he wrote entitled Among Familiar Shadows. This book is an even more intimate evocation of the people who made the world he grew up in. Coffin’s portraits of these people—including his own family—are loving but unsentimental. Traveling back through time and memory to stand among their familiar shadows, he shows us how they lived, how they talked, how they raised their children—and how they dealt with tragedy.  Among Familiar Shadows is sure to take an honored place beside The Long Light of Those Days in the canon of great New England writing.

This event will include a reading from Among Familiar Shadows, light refreshments, and a chance to visit with Bruce Coffin and get your books signed. (Books will be available for purchase at the event.)
