Date

This event has no more occurrences

Join local plein air artist and New England landscape painting instructor Lynn VanNatta for a fun morning of outdoor painting at Fable Farm in Barnard, VT. In addition to art instruction, a delicious summer luncheon will be included! After an initial painting demonstration, Lynn will support and guide each student individually throughout the morning. A three-course gourmet farm fresh meal will follow at Fable Farm’s wonderful barn and terrace. Enjoy a blend of luscious garden hues and food that will delight both your color palette AND your food palate!

Please bring your own painting supplies, portable easel, chair, water bottle and snack. All mediums are welcome including acrylics, oils, gouache and watercolor. Wear outdoor clothes to protect from poison ivy and tall grass, a hat, and sunblock to protect from the sun. There will be restrooms on site. Dress for summer rain showers and we will duck in under cover for a complete en plein air experience. Plein air is about painting in all weather conditions and painting the changing light and atmosphere.

Lynn VanNatta graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BFA and certification in Art Education. She expresses herself primarily through oil painting, though she continues to experiment in other media. In her Vermont studio Lynn paints impressionistic still lifes and portraits in lush colors with free brush strokes. Her plein air paintings are inspired by the rolling hilled vistas and ever-changing seasonal hues of the Vermont countryside. Lynn studied portrait painting with renowned Copley Artist Mark Hayden of Haverhill, MA, and was strongly influenced by landscape painter Caleb Stone of Rockport, MA. Painting on her own or in the company of other artists, Lynn savors every opportunity for challenge and constant growth that she finds in the life dedicated to art.
