Green Up Day

From The Blog Green Up Day, May 5th 2018

For those who do not know, Green Up Day is a statewide spring event that happens the first Saturday in May each year. Green Up Vermont’s mission “is to promote stewardship of our state’s natural landscape and waterways and the livability of our communities by involving people in Green Up Day and raising public awareness about the benefits of a litter-free environment”.

Launched in 1970 by Governor Deane Davis, the non-profit organization Green Up Vermont was formed in 1979 to carry on the tradition. This year mark’s the 48th Green Up Day.  To learn more about Green Up Day, visit the Green Up Vermont website.

Every community in Vermont has a Green Up Day and anyone may participate with the goal to  remove litter from the roadsides and public spaces. We have rounded up all the specifics on how to get involved in Woodstock and the surrounding towns.
